SHINE ON Sports Founder

Nikki (Lieb) Schwob founded Shine On Sports LLC in January, 2013 in an effort to share her passion for sport and leadership.  Nikki has been involved in sports all her life starting with soccer at age 5.  Originally from Villanova, PA, Nikki played soccer and lacrosse at Radnor High School where her teams won State Titles in each sport. She went on to play both sports at the University of Virginia  In lacrosse, she was a three-time First Team All-American, earned ALL ACC honors three times, and won Virginia's Defensive Midfielder of the Year Award in 2006.  She was also a team captain and Tewaaraton Finalist in 2006. While at Virginia, Nikki helped the lacrosse team to two ACC Championship Titles ('04, '06) and appeared in the NCAA National Championship game three times ('03, '04, '05), winning the National Championship in 2004.  In addition, she played Varsity Soccer at UVA for two years ('02, '07).  Outside of college lacrosse, Nikki was a member of the United States National Lacrosse Team for three years ('07-'09).  She played with the US Team in the Prague Cup in 2008 and was an alternate for the World Cup in 2009.  She graduated from the University of Virginia with a Masters of Teaching in Elementary Education.

Upon graduation, Nikki worked for the United States Golf Association for 2 years before finding her passion in coaching.  She coached at two Division I programs, Cal Berkeley and Davidson College, before moving to Pinehurst, NC and founding Shine on Sports to run lacrosse and leadership camps.  Nikki was the first-ever Varsity Head Coach at Pinecrest High School and brought lacrosse to The Athletic Club of the Sandhills where she was Director for 6 years. Under the ACS umbrella, she developed the first-ever girls travel lacrosse team, recreation program, winter league, spring league, and Kinderlax. Nikki currently resides in Pinehurst with her husband and 3 kids (Brady, Colby, and Finley).

Participation in any sport is a great way to cultivate characteristics that make us not only great competitors, but great people and leaders.  Nikki believes in the importance of promoting the competitive spirit within, while at the same time teaching humility and integrity.  Shine Sports will bring together athletes from all walks of life and develop character, confidence, and class – so that when they leave the field, athletes are better prepared to make a positive impact on the world and the lives of others.
