TURKEY SHOOTOUT 3V3 TOURNAMENT
The Turkey Shootout is a FUN, 3v3 lacrosse tournament on the Saturday after Thanksgiving! The goal of this event is to provide an opportunity for lacrosse families to convene and give players a chance to compete and connect. What better way to work off some of that Thanksgiving feast!? Four fast-paced, competitive games, tons of touches, fun for all. Tournament T-Shirts will available to purchase at registration and day of. Portion of the proceeds will go to Union Pines and Pinecrest High School womens lacrosse teams.
Moore County lacrosse alumni are invited to get involved and participate - so it will also be a time to reconnect with or meet players that were once in your shoes! There will be a small social after for everyone to chat and ask college players questions (about their college experiences, recruiting process, details about their schools, etc).
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! This event is for the players and lacrosse community. CLICK HERE TO VOLUNTEER! We'd love help with the following:
Set up: 8:00am arrival to set up fields, goals, tables, etc.
Officials: Officiate at least 2 games (out of 4)
Scorekeeper: Sit at table and keep track of score and help with time
Break Down: Put away fields, goals, tables, etc.

Varsity: Grades 11 and up

REGISTRATION:You must register as an individual and will get placed on a team. Have a teammate request? Awesome - just be sure to indicate that when you register (though it is not guaranteed).
TOURNAMENT FORMAT
- 3 v 3 games - no goalies
- Each team will consist of 4-5 players
- Teams will play 3 games then there will be a Championship game
- Games will start every 15 minutes
- No goalies
- One referee per game (see penalties below)
- No coaches, players coach and sub themselves
- FUN! FUN! FUN!
RULES:
- Soft, swax lax ball will be used
- A coin toss will be used to determine starting possession.
- Teams line up across from each other at midfield (similar to soccer) to start the game. No draws/faceoffs, ball changes possession after ever goal.
- After a goal, the team that was scored on will restart the game by collecting the ball and starting behind the crease. All other players must be 5 yards away from the player in possession of the ball. The player with the ball may restart with a pass or running/cradling.
- One pass (or attempted pass) must be made on offense before a team can score, you can’t score from the defensive side of midfield.
- If a penalty is called, everyone must be 5 yards away from the player awarded the ball, all penalties are indirect (player cannot score from the restart, must pass first)
- Running clock, no timeouts.
- This event is about fun and honoring the game. We encourage positive language only from parents/fans
PENALTIES:
- No, body to body, or body to stick contact
- Maintain control of your body at all times
- No covering the ball with your stick or body
- Other than using your foot, no intentionally playing the ball off the body.
- No entering the crease with your body on offense OR defense (except to get the ball out of the goal after a shot is scored).
- No dangerous propelling (passing or shooting through someone, or passing or shooting without looking first; it is the responsibility of the person with the ball to make a safe pass or shot)
- No dangerous follow through with the stick (following your pass or shot)
